One sentence at a time
Things we found in the filings that can be said plainly. Each one is produced by a query against the primary records rather than written by hand, so each can be re-run and checked. This page grows as more counties are mapped.
How to read these. A fact describes what the filings record, not why anyone acted. Contributions on this page are lawful, disclosed and reported by the filers themselves. Where a number depends on matching names across records, it is an estimate and is marked as one. Nothing here alleges a crime.

Where these come from
Every fact on this page is generated by scripts/mine-facts.py, which runs
against the same database that backs the Institute's research tools. The query behind
each fact is published with it. If a figure here disagrees with a figure in a report,
the report is the considered version: it accounts for context this page cannot.
Three standing caveats apply to everything above. Contributor and payee names are recorded inconsistently across filings, so counts of distinct donors are upper bounds and totals attributed to any one name are lower bounds. Negative rows — refunds and corrections — are excluded, which means gross receipts rather than net. And 2026 is a partial year, so it is never compared like-for-like against a completed cycle.
